Hawke's Bay A&P Show

B&W Leg-A-Long at the HB Show,  we entered her in the open sport horse ring and she won her age group then 3rd in suitability for show jump/eventing.  A huge achievement for one so young competing against mature animals.

Now 12 months old and is just georgeous...photo taken in paddock condition, just clipped out ready for show preparation and two weeks later on her debut won her class then took Champion inhand at Maraekakaho Sports.
Up until recently we had declined all offers to buy her but sadly she is now SOLD.  She is off to wave the flag for Kiwi Sporthorses in Jakata.

another black and white for the stud.  Tayla can really move...and will be an excellent cross with Oreo eventually.  Of little reknown parentage but has to have some type of breeding in there due to the extreme movement.  Hopefully will be out and about next spring inhand if she developes a bit as she is a bit spindley compared to our Oreo babies.

Chelsea and B&W Bently at the HOTY 2009

Well we made it to the Hoty with Chelsea and 27 day old colt.  Mum still looking very broody like but not too bad having foaled very recently.  We didn't feature due to being a TB (the only one in this class) amoung big moving warmbloods but it was all worth while with all the interest generated by our quality foal. (who appearsto be totally bomb proof like his mother) Presently one of my capable handlers is trying to buy him and I want to keep him...

News update January 2009

We have had another very busy season with Oreo and outside mares.  Fully booked back in July closing the books at 24,  though a couple have backed out due to finances or other reasons.  We have sucessfully covered 19 with still a couple more to go once they have foaled.  A few of the mares haven't taken till their second cycle and my guess is its the condition of the mare.  This seems to be the general after speaking to other stallion owners.  Mares that arrive at stud in obese condition do not concieve so well and we have had our fair share of these this year.  Owners get so disappointed if they recycle after serving so it pays to send them to stud fit and healthy then they generally take first time so keep this in mind prior to sending your mare away.

There have been some gorgeous foals born this year, all coloures...Pinto, bay and black, never a chesnut so we can assume he can't throw a chestnut.  Will get him tested some time as with homozygous black he can only produce black or black and white from black.  So far we have had 100% pinto from pinto mares.

Our stud has been spoilt this year with all three that have foaled producing pintos.  The foals have created alot of interest and I need to make my mind up as to which I will keep as I have clients wanting to purchase.  Had three people in line for Silouette's colt but we have made our decision and he is going to be out and about in-hand in the pinto classes with his new owners.  We still have the big black mare, Chelsea to foal and she is due mid Febuary.

Oreo

Masters games October 2007

Oreo's first jumping competition.  He completed two rounds of show hunter and one of show jumping with out a problem, very bold and not even a wrong canter lead.  He has a very nice show hunter style, knees up and even and a nice follow through.
